This plaque commemorates the sacrifice of the crew of a Hampden bomber of 144 Sqdn. which crashed near this spot on 14th April 1942

This memorial is on Sea Road, Felpham

This twin engine bomber (serial no AT110) had taken off from North Luffenham (Rutland) to bomb Dortmund, Germany. The full reason why it crashed here may never be known.

Crashed 2215 at Felpham between Bognor Regis and Middleton-on-sea.
